  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  My point of concern is that this possibility has been on the radar for a long time, if you follow this kind of stuff you would know that it is overdue. Have you noticed how most health authorities have been reactionary - shutting the borders after the contagion has entered and not pro actively shutting the borders in early.

  Anybody health official who was watching closely should have got the message in December that this could be the big one and we had better get serious right now.

  Many people are saying that it is just another flu, wrong flu typically hospitalizes 0.2 percent of it's patients, the hospitalisation rate for this one appears to be around 12% with half of those requiring an intensive care bed.

  How many intensive care beds are there in your city? - Not many and most of them are already full most of the time. Take it seriously friends, I think that this will be the main punctuating event of our lives.

  Fall Guy - What about the persecution of Muslims in India?

  it's not persecution, only a long overdue and inevitable push back.

  Vidiot - Like the Org gives a shit about persecuted Muslims.

  - They never even get a mention as they are a far away Brown people that don't convert, cause lots of problems if they do convert and have nothing to give anyway.

  JoenB75 - So rare muslims are persecuted. Christians are persecuted throughout the third world.

  - And it's always muslims doing the persecution, real persecution, killing, rape, burning crops and villages etc. not petty persecution like in Russia. Have you ever heard the WT acknowledge persecution of Christians by muslims?

  Circuit Overseer to Answer My Questions + Concerns...or Not

  hello all, i'm 'researching', a jw who is in the first steps of taking a look at their beliefs.. i've semi-recently (about a couple weeks ago) heard about the sexual abuse cases (pennsylvania attorney general’s investigation request) and then the arc in 2015. this lead to a deep investigation, which lead to many questions arising.

  a jw friend of mine suggested i be careful (due to apostates) and ask the brothers.

  so i typed up my questions + concerns and emailed an elder my mother has known for a long time.

  Anyone ever get blow back for owning and riding a motorcycle?

  her grandfather was an elder.

  i was told by some dubbers that it was not christian to use a motorcycle.

  Ever notice a lot of JWs don't have pets?

  i was told by several elders to not get a dog when i was looking for one in the 80s.

  the end was close and we needed to focus on the preaching work.

  i know some have pets but a lot don't.

  i`m sure you have all noticed the ever increasing number of newbies and lurkers who have visited this site over the past months and i am sure we could all collectively welcome them to this site and support them on learning the ttatt .

  and helping them to navigate how they can look up older publications and quotes of the wtb&ts that they would rather remain hidden.. we all know jehovah`s witnesses /governing body never apologizes for mistakes they make they just don`t mention them anymore and explain it away as new light from god.. actually a big cop out.. welcome to all you who are new to this site .. every day their seems to be someone new posting which is great .. and if this is any indication of what is happening in all other ex jw sites the wtb&ts are in deep trouble .
